Digital X-Ray for Pets — Instant On-Site Results in Pimple Nilakh

High-resolution digital radiography for bones, chest, abdomen, and soft tissue. Results available immediately — no waiting, no referrals.

Why Digital X-Ray Matters

X-ray (radiography) is one of the most important diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. It lets us see inside your pet's body without surgery — assessing bones, joints, chest, and abdominal organs with immediate, high-resolution images.

At Shivraj Pet Clinic, we use digital radiography rather than old film X-ray. Digital X-ray produces sharper images, can be enhanced on-screen, and is ready within seconds — not minutes. Dr. Pritesh reviews images immediately and discusses findings with you before you leave.

What X-Ray Diagnoses

Bone & Joint Conditions

  • Fractures — from road accidents, falls, trauma
  • Hip dysplasia — malformed hip joint, common in large breed dogs
  • Elbow dysplasia and OCD (Osteochondrosis Dissecans)
  • Spinal disc disease (IVDD) — disc bulges causing back pain or paralysis
  • Bone tumors and cancer lesions
  • Patellar luxation (kneecap slipping)
  • Arthritis — joint space narrowing, bone remodeling

Chest Conditions

  • Pneumonia and lung infections
  • Pleural effusion (fluid around the lungs)
  • Heart enlargement and congestive heart failure
  • Tracheal collapse in small breed dogs
  • Lung masses and metastatic cancer

Abdominal Conditions

  • Bladder stones — visible on X-ray if calcium-containing
  • Kidney stones and kidney enlargement
  • Intestinal obstruction — from swallowed objects
  • GDV (bloat) — the characteristic gas-filled stomach pattern
  • Splenic masses
  • Pregnancy — puppy/kitten count, foetal positioning

Exotic Animals

We use digital X-ray for rabbits, birds, turtles, and guinea pigs — adapted for their small size. This allows us to diagnose fractures, respiratory disease, egg binding, and bladder stones in exotic patients that cannot be diagnosed by examination alone.

📋 X-ray and bloodwork together: For most sick pets, we combine X-ray with blood panels from our in-house lab. Together they give Dr. Pritesh a complete picture — structural (X-ray) and biochemical (blood) — leading to a faster, more accurate diagnosis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is X-ray safe for my pet?
Yes. Digital X-ray uses a very low dose of radiation. The exposure for a routine veterinary X-ray is minimal and the risk is negligible compared to the diagnostic benefit of getting an accurate diagnosis.
Does my pet need to be sedated for X-ray?
Many pets can be X-rayed without sedation if they are calm and the area being imaged cooperates. For anxious pets, uncooperative positioning, or painful conditions where movement would be harmful, light sedation gives us clearer images and is safer for the patient.
Can you do X-ray on rabbits and birds?
Yes — we regularly X-ray rabbits, birds, and guinea pigs. Exotic patients are handled with extra care and positioned specifically for their anatomy.
How quickly will I get results?
Digital X-ray images are available within seconds on our monitor. Dr. Pritesh reviews and explains findings before you leave the clinic in most cases.
